September is one of the best times of year to visit Logroño. The grape harvest is underway, the streets fill with scarves, music, food and a festive atmosphere, and the city celebrates its much-loved San Mateo and Rioja Grape Harvest Festivities.
In 2026, the main San Mateo programme takes place from 19 to 25 September, with more than 350 activities throughout the city: concerts, food tastings, fireworks, children’s activities, folklore, traditional events, gastronomic competitions, theatre and many of Logroño’s most popular celebrations.
If you are spending these days in our city, we have prepared this San Mateo 2026 guide to help you organise your stay, discover the most important events and make the most of one of the liveliest weeks of the year in Logroño.
